At You Yangs Massage in Lara, Sally provides Gentle Scar Therapy, a specialised treatment using gentle fingertip pressure to work with scar tissue following surgery, injury or trauma.

This gentle, non-invasive technique aims to improve the comfort, flexibility and appearance of scar tissue. While Gentle Scar Therapy does not remove scars, it may help improve their texture, colour and feel, while reducing sensations of tightness, pulling and restriction in the surrounding tissues.

Gentle Scar Therapy may be beneficial for:

Caesarean section (C-section) scars
Mastectomy and breast surgery scars
Abdominal surgery scars
Scars following accidents or injuries
Other surgical scars
Older scars that feel tight, sensitive or restricted

When can Gentle Scar Therapy begin?

Scars must be fully healed, with treatment commencing no earlier than 8 weeks post-surgery, provided the area has healed appropriately.

What can I expect from treatment?

Gentle Scar Therapy is usually provided over a 4–6 week treatment plan, allowing time to work progressively with the scar tissue. Your individual treatment needs and recommended plan can be discussed with Sally during your initial appointment.
